It is hard to stop people from entering bad data. The most common solution is "training". This project offers a better solution for situation where the system can know the configuration is not correct. The Audit Summary is a go-live tool (source->Apps->Audit Summary) helps ensure your system's data and data entry processes remain near-perfect during a sometimes lengthy go-live process. The above Pack Out/Pack In does two things:

Creates a sample audit view - show BPs with the work 'test' in their name. We are pretending this is a bad thing.
Creates an Audit Summary window to display the view.

Gaurav ask a question today about translating data (as opposed to windows and fields) in iDempiere and ADempiere. The question was "How do you do it?" The answer is: You go to the Client window and enable the "Multi Lingual Documents" check box. When you enable Multi Lingual Documents, translation tabs will appear in the following windows:

UOM

When you log in using a system language what has translation details/records for the above items, the system will show you the translated data. When your customers/vendors have a BP language that has a translation for one of the above items, the print formats will show the translated data. Thanks to Gaurav for asking the question.

First Topic: Debugging Pack In and Pack Out

Talked about breaking the process into its pieces. First the SQL. Second the Table and Column. Lastly the Print Format. It was the print format that was causing the issue.
We reviewed how to find the code: Window=>Tab=>Field=>zoom to Column=>zoom to Report and Process=>found class name. The code was not a standard process, and found no obvious points of interest.
We decided to punt to a developer

Second Topic: preparing your environment for outside help

One option is to let the developer into your system.
The second option is to send the developer an obfuscated copy of the DB.

Third Topic: assigning costs to products that are not purchased when using Avg PO

You have the option to override the Costing Method at the Product Category. It probably makes sense to maintain some products with Standard costing. It is the Matched PO posting process that updates the Avg PO costing record. If you do not purchase and receive a product, you will not get a costing record through Avg PO (I believe - it is my experience).
